Heroic man catches a baby that was dropped from ‘the ninth or 10th floor’ of Grenfell Tower

An eyewitness said the “gentleman ran forward and managed to grab the baby.” A lifesaving hero.

At the present moment, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed that six people have died following the tragic fire that engulfed Grenfell Tower.

Forty fire engines and more than 200 firefighters and officers were called to battle the blaze. The London fire Brigade have stated that : “The Brigade was called at 0054 and crews are still at the scene working tirelessly to bring the fire under control and to carry out systematic searches of the tower block. Fire crews from North Kensington, Kensington, Hammersmith, Paddington and surrounding fire stations are in attendance. People are advised to avoid the area.”

While members of the public are doing their very best to help those in need, one man became a genuine lifesaver when he caught a baby that was dropped from a window ‘on the ninth or 10th floor’ of the burning west London building.

Speaking with the Press Association, Samira Lamrani gives her detailed account of the incident: “People were starting to appear at the windows, frantically banging and screaming. The windows were slightly ajar, a woman was gesturing that she was about to throw her baby and if somebody could catch her baby. Somebody did, a gentleman ran forward and managed to grab the baby.”
