Israel’s remarks come after Bella Hadid attended a pro-Palestinian protest at the weekend
Israel has accused ‘celebrities’, including the likes of Bella Hadid, of promoting the idea of ‘throwing Jews into the sea’ after the model attended a pro-Palestinian demonstration in New York over the weekend.
This comes after Hadid took to Instagram yesterday to share photos of herself with a group of friends at a protest in Bay Ridge, New York.
The Twitter account for Israel posted that Bella Hadid had been chanting the phrase “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
According to the account, this phrase is “used by those who call for the elimination of Israel”.

Following the protest, the official Twitter account for Israel posted a screenshot of Hadid at the protest, where she live-streamed the event to her 42 million Instagram followers.
The state of Israel’s Twitter post said: “When celebrities like @BellaHadid advocate for throwing Jews into the sea, they are advocating for the elimination of the Jewish State.
“This shouldn’t be an Israeli-Palestinian issue. This should be a human issue. Shame on you. #IsraelUnderAttack.”
In her Instagram post which showed Hadid at the march, the model wrote: “I feel a deep sense of pain for Palestine and for my Palestinian brothers and sisters today and everyday. Watching these videos physically breaks my heart into 100 different pieces.
“You cannot allow yourself to be desensitized to watching human life being taken. You just can’t. Palestinian lives are the lives that will help change the world. And they are being taken from us by the second. #FreePalestine.”

In the footage and images posted online, Bella was seen marching with a group of friends and waving a Palestinian flag as she walked down the city’s streets.
Following the Israeli air strikes in the early hours of Sunday morning, the number of people who have died in the attacks in Gaza has risen to 197, with more than a quarter of those being children.
In Israel, a total of 10 people have been killed in the attacks, including a five-year-old boy.
