Jamie Lynn Spears has spoken out about her relationship with her sister Britney
Britney has been rarely out of the headlines in recent years.
From the termination of her controversial conservatorship to her recent divorce from Sam Asghari, the ‘Circus’ singer’s life has become a mainstay of the tabloids.
However, her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ recent stint on I’m a Celebrity has raised eyebrows, as she has previously been accused of being involved in her sister’s conservatorship.
In Britney’s memoir The Woman in Me, which came out earlier this year, she said: “[Jamie Lynn] knew I was reaching out to her for help and that she was dogging me. I felt like she should have taken my side.”
The singer further added that she believed her sister was profiting off her situation, writing: “As I was fighting the conservatorship and receiving a lot of press attention, she was writing a book capitalising on it. She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of them hurtful and outrageous.”
However, during a recent episode of I’m a Celeb, Jamie Lynn opened up about how she feels about her relationship with her sister.
First Dates’ Fred Sirieix asked the 32-year-old about Britney’s infamous kiss with Madonna at the 2003 VMAs, to which she replied: “They just did it. I was at home watching like, ‘Oh OK, this will be fun tomorrow at school, can’t wait.”
She added, per UNILAD: “Anything my sister did I always thought was the best.
“When it came to my sister, even if I felt anything, if anyone said anything I was ready to go. I was like, ‘Don’t talk about my sister, she’s the best’.”
She continued: “And so literally I just thought – and, by the way, in today’s world it would mean nothing – but it was this iconic moment that they went with, and it happened, and it’s what they did.
“My mom was like, ‘It’s artistic, she’s expressing herself.'”
When asked about reports that her and Brit no longer get on by fellow campmate Frankie Dettori, Jamie Lynn was having none of it and replied simply ‘I love my sister.’
