The mother-of-two was last seen on April 22
A body has been discovered by police in the search for a missing 33-year-old woman who was last seen over a week ago.
Mother of two Katie Kenyon was last spotted getting into a Ford Transit van in Burnley on April 22.
Lancashire Police have now revealed that a body was discovered on Friday night at the Forest of Bowland. A reported sighting of a Ford Transit Van led them to focus on the area where the body was ultimately discovered.
At this time, police are yet to confirm the identity of the body.
“At this stage, although we are not in a position to formally confirm the woman’s identity, we do believe the body is that of Katie.
“Her family have been told and they continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
“Our thoughts are with them at this time.”
A post-mortem is due to be carried out to determine the cause of death.
50-year old Andrew Burfield of Todmorden Road, Burnley has been charged with Kenyon’s murder. After appearing at Preston Crown Court on Friday, he is due to face trial on November 14 later this year.
