She said she is ‘fully aware of the severity of my current personal financial situation’

Katie Price has spoken out after an arrest warrant was issued for her after she failed to show up for a bankruptcy hearing.

On Tuesday, Price was absent from a hearing at a bankruptcy court in London, having been told she must attend or risk arrest.

When she failed to turn up, a warrant for her arrest was issued by the court.

Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton said Price had been given “very clear warnings” about what would happen if she didn’t attend, and that the former glamour model had “no real excuse in failing to attend today’s hearing.”

Now, Price has shared a statement in which she says she missed the court hearing because she was in Turkey filming a documentary.

The Mirror reports that the mum-of-five had posted a picture on Instagram of her eating a sandwich on a flight, but this was later deleted. Meanwhile, her boyfriend JJ Slater posted a photo of himself at a dental clinic in Istanbul.

According to the Sun, Price is also having surgery to her eyes and chin whilst in Istanbul.

Taking to social media to “set the record straight,” Price said she was “fully aware of the severity” of her financial situation.

On her Instagram stories, she wrote: “Whilst I’m fully aware of the severity of my current personal financial situation with my bankruptcy, I am today away working for a documentary on corrective surgeries.

“I have and I am continuing to cooperate with the relevant people on matters to the best of my ability which will be addressed after my return from work. I am neither embarrassed or ashamed. I own my situation and I am trying my best to work my way out ot if and put matters right.”

She continued: “I have to continue in my work in order to satisfy these bankruptcy orders which is all I am trying to do right now. I am however not running from matters and will continue to take matters with great seriousness.

“I am doing the best I can to rectify things during extremely challenging times. I will continue to work on my mental health disorders for the sake of my myself and my family and do the best I can.”

Price was declared bankrupt earlier this year over an unpaid tax bill of more than £761,994.05. This was the second time she’d declared bankruptcy, having had debts of £3.2m in 2019.

At a hearing in February relating to her first bankruptcy, Price was ordered to pay 40 per cent of her monthly OnlyFans income to the trustee for the next three years.

Price had missed a bankruptcy hearing in March because she was “dealing with serious stuff”, Sky News reports.

She had said in October that she was “fed up” with the threats of legal action, and would go to prison to be “done with it all.”
