He was most well known for his incendiary relationship advice

Controversial YouTuber Kevin Samuels has died – with his mother confirming the news after initially finding out on social media.

Samuels, 56, who has 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube is believed to have passed away earlier this week, with his mother, Beverly Samuels-Burch, confirming the news with NBC earlier today. While Samuels-Burch confirmed her son’s passing on May 6, rumours were circulating the night before, which is where she initially discovered the shocking revelation.

At the time of writing, she has declined to release details about the nature of her son’s passing.

“That was a terrible thing for social media to put that out. I didn’t even know. I hadn’t even been notified,” she said. “All I’m doing is requesting that people pray for us.”

A police report states that a woman in the apartment heard Samuels complain of chest pain, prompting her to help him. After Samuels fell to the ground, the unnamed woman dialled 911 and officers were called to the East Paces Ferry Road apartment.

Police arrived to find paramedics performing CPR. The content creator was rushed to Piedmont Hospital, where he later died.

No further details have been revealed and more information is expected to follow as the case is investigated.

Samuels had built a successful online brand that centred around relationship advice however, much of his rhetoric was deemed misogynistic.

Some of his most popular videos include those with titles like “How Much Do You Cost to Submit?” and “Modern Women Are Average at Best?”

Just last week, Samuels claimed that unmarried women over 35 are in fact “leftover.”

“If you live to 35 and you’re not married, you’re a leftover. You’re leftover. Men know you may have a problem,” he said in his video. “Whether you want to hear it or not, I’ll go with you. I’m telling you the truth you don’t want to hear.”

The initial rumours of his death sparked fierce social media battles between his loyal fans and those who took issue with his content. Fans accused his critics of celebrating his death.
