Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce with Kanye West after seven years of marriage according to celebrity news experts TMZ.
TMZ’s sources claim it is ‘as amicable as a divorce can be’, with the couple happy to share legal and physical custody of the four children they have together: North, Chicago, Psalm and Saint.
The couple known as KimYe signed a prenup before their marriage in 2014 and neither party is contesting it. Reports claim they are close to concluding on a settlement in divorce proceedings.
Kanye’s struggles with mental health have been well documented over the past few years, and reports claim Kim would have filed for divorce earlier had it not been for her husband enduring a severe bipolar episode.
She had supposedly felt it would have been cruel to begin the process while he was unwell.
The couple started dating in 2012 after Kanye professed his love for the reality TV star in his track Cold from his Cruel Summer album. They married two years later in Florence, Italy.
This is Kim Kardashian’s third divorce, having divorced music producer Damon Thomas in 2004 before she lasted just 72 days with basketball player Kris Humphries. Kanye had never been married before he wedded Kim.
