Fox News host Tucker Carlson tweeted a video featuring Rittenhouse’s comments
Kyle Rittenhouse has spoken out publicly for the first time since he was found not guilty on all counts following the conclusion of his homicide trial on Friday November 19.
Rittenhouse was accused of homicide after he killed two men and wounded a third during a period of racial unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in August 2020.
Controversial Fox News host Tucker Carlson tweeted a video featuring Rittenhouse’s comments shortly after the verdict was announced. In the short clip – reportedly for an upcoming documentary that Carlson is creating about the teenager – Rittenhouse can be heard saying that he agrees that the jury made the right decision regarding his fate.

“The jury reached the correct verdict, self defence is not illegal,” suggests Rittenhouse whilst traveling in a car after the verdict had been unveiled.
“I believe they came to the correct verdict and I’m glad that everything went well… it’s been a rough journey but we made it through it. We made it through the hard part.”
During the incident which took place last August, Rittenhouse used a AR-style semi-automatic rifle – which he believed might be taken away and used against him during a night of civil unrest as protestors rallied against police brutality.
Earlier in Carlson’s clip, Rittenhouse can be heard detailing supposed reoccurring nightmares where he envisions what might have happened had he not acted what his lawyers have described as self defence.
“Almost every outcome is me getting seriously injured or dead…” he explains. “Those are the dreams I have on an almost daily basis.”
During his opening statement, prosecutor Thomas Binger described the period as “two of the roughest nights that our community has ever seen” but emphasised that despite the chaos, “the only person who killed anyone is the defendant, Kyle Rittenhouse.”
Rittenhouse was ultimately found not guilty for the killings of 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum and 26-year-old Anthony Huber and for injuring 27-year-old Gaige Grosskreutz.
