RMT members will take industrial action in support of fellow staff members that were recently dismissed and disciplined for stopping an assault.
The news was confirmed today that station staff across London will take both strike action and action short of a strike.

The RMT’s executive has told all of their members at London Bridge to take strike action by not booking on for any shifts commencing 22:00hrs on Sunday 7th May 2017 until 21:59 on Monday 8th May 2017.
They’re also encouraging their staff not to service any POM’s (ticket machines) and not to challenge those customers who refuse to produce a valid ticket/oyster/bank card or permit for travel.
This decision to take industrial actions stems from an incident that occurred last November when three members of staff were involved in a physical altercation with  fare-dodger. The three members of staff were assaulted and one of them was pregnant.
In the aftermath, one of the RMT workers was sacked and the other two were disciplined for tackling the fare-dodger.
RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said: “Our members have voted for action in support of their victimised colleagues at London Bridge and with LU making it absolutely clear they have no interest in the principles of natural justice we have no option at all but to move to a campaign of industrial action. The union executive will also continue to look at a programme of escalation in this critically important dispute.
“This is one of the most appalling abuses of the LU disciplinary procedure that RMT has ever come across. This was a shocking, violent incident and those that bore the brunt of it should have been supported and commended by the company. Instead they have been sacked or disciplined in what is the most appalling multiple miscarriage of justice.”
