The man’s entire garden was covered following the ‘dreadful’ incident
A council has heard how a man was “splattered in a very unpleasant way” by human waste after a plane emptied its toilet over his garden.
Councillor Karen Davies said that a member of the public contacted her about the “dreadful incident” in Berkshire.
Speaking to The Royal Borough Of Windsor & Maidenhead’s aviation forum, Davies said she was “horrified” to hear of the incident.
She said: “His whole garden and garden umbrellas, and he were all covered.”
The incident happened in mid-July when a plane passing overhead in Windsor – which is one of the main flight paths in and out of Heathrow – emptied its toilet.
Cllr Davies, who is the councillor for Clewer East, said that whilst a number of incidents happen every year with “frozen sewage from planes,” this sewage was not frozen and “splattered in a very unpleasant way.
She explained: “I know a number of incidents happen every year with frozen sewage from planes, but this wasn’t frozen and his whole garden was splattered in a very unpleasant way.”
“He was out in the garden at the time, so a really horrible, horrible experience.”
John Bowden, the councillor for Eton & Castle, called it a “one in a billion chance”, according to the BBC.
He added that the warm summer weather meant the poo could have “come out as a more ‘fluidy’ item.”
Cllr Davies said that the resident – who has not been named – decided to not pursue an insurance claim, explaining: “Obviously he wasn’t going to do that for the sake of a couple of garden umbrellas, in terms of bumping up his premium, so he’s just sort of had to take it on the chin.”
The name of the airline has not been revealed, but she said it was “based a very long way from here.”
