The report comes days before Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey is due to be aired
The Duchess of Sussex is “saddened” by a report which claims she was the subject of a bullying complaint during her time at Kensington Palace.
A report in The Times claims that a complaint was made against Meghan in October 2018 by Jason Knauf, who was communications secretary for Meghan and Harry at the time.
It alleged she had driven two personal assistants away and was undermining the confidence of a third member of staff.
“The duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma,” a spokesperson said on her behalf.
“She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good.”
The timing of the report comes just days before Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey is due to be aired for the first time.
The interview will be screened to US audiences first by CBS on Sunday, with the interview expected to be shown in full in the UK the following day.
The interview is said to cover a broad range of themes, with the couple discussing their life within the royal family and their decision to step back from their senior roles within the monarchy.
