Manchester United have confirmed that the kick off time has been altered for Michael Carrick’s testimonial due to the benefit concert for the victims of the Manchester terror attack.
It was announced on Tuesday afternoon that a special concert will be held on Sunday June 4, with Ariana Grande – whose concert at the Manchester Arena was targeted during last week’s attack – being joined by the likes of Usher, Pharrell Williams, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Take That for performances at Old Trafford Cricket Ground. All money raised by the concert will go to the families of those affected by the attack, which left 22 people dead and over 50 injured.
After working with the concerts organisers and authorities, United have moved kick off time in Carrick’s testimonial, being played at the other Old Trafford, from 4:00pm to 2:30pm.

“Unfortunately we have had to change the kick-off time and I’m sorry if this causes an inconvenience to anyone attending the game,” Carrick said.
“Our game, and the coming together of the people of Manchester has taken on a much greater significance since the tragic events of Monday 22 May.
“I personally want to extend my heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and all those affected.
“We want everybody to know that we are Manchester and we show a sense of togetherness and we give our full support to the benefit concert after our game.
“I’m looking forward to seeing all of you this weekend at the Testimonial to celebrate what our city is about.”
