The sisters were killed in Wembley on June 6 2020

Two police officers who took photos of two murdered sisters and shared them on WhatsApp groups have been jailed.

The officers have each been jailed for two years and nine months, the BBC reports.

Nicole Smallman, 27, and Bibaa Henry, 46, were both murdered in June last year. They had been celebrating Henry’s birthday when they were repeatedly stabbed by Danyal Hussein.

Hussein, 19, was found guilty of murdering the sisters and in October and was sentenced to a minimum of 35 years in behind bars.

Metropolitan Police officers Deniz Jaffer and Jamie Lewis were sent to guard the crime scene at Fryent Country Park but whilst they were there they left their post to take images of the sisters’ bodies.

Jaffer took four pictures of the bodies and Lewis took two. Lewis then superimposed his face on to one of them to create a “selfie-style” image.

Jaffer then sent the pictures to an inexperienced officer, and showed the images to two other officers, including one he was supposed to be mentoring.

On June 19, the police watchdog received an anonymous tip-off about Lewis’ actions, with Jaffer being arrested three days later. Both officers were sacked by the Met.

They were each sentenced at the Old Bailey on Monday December 6 after they both previously admitted misconduct in a public office.

At the trial of Jaffer and Lewis, prosecutor Joel Smith said they had committed a “gross breach of trust”, with family members describing them in victim impact statements as a “disgrace” to the police family and to mankind.
