The year-long dry spell did not apply to everyone
According to The Sun, Matt Hancock has been in an affair with Gina Coladangelo, a taxpayer-funded adviser to the government. Could he not have waited for Hot Girl Summer?

Since November, Ms Coladangelo has reportedly been in the role of executive director at the Department of Health and Social Care since November. Strangely enough, her appointment is not noted anywhere on the public record.
People on social media have called for Hancock to resign from his position. Some are slating his alleged affair as the reason, while others insist it is the blatant disregard for social distancing rules. I will have to double-check, but I believe making out with coworkers is due to come into effect when restrictions lift on July 19th.
To be crystal clear, this picture was taken with 2m social distancing rules still in place at workplaces.
The issue here is not Matt Hancock’s infidelity – it’s his world-beating hypocrisy.
Write the rules. Tell the little people to obey. Then break them with impunity. pic.twitter.com/JU79roRvsG

I love that people think that THIS is what is going to make Hancock resign. I would love that to be true but if he’s survived everything else, he’ll survive this

Hancock did release a statement that apologises for breaking the rules.

A spokesperson for the Prime Minster had the following to say:
“You’ve seen the Health Secretary’s statement, so I would point you to that.
“I don’t really have anything further to add.
“The health secretary set out that he accepted he had breached the social distancing guidelines and he has apologised for that.
“The prime minister has accepted the Health Secretary’s apology and considers the matter closed.”
