He will also be presenting a series of true crime documentaries

Piers Morgan has signed a major broadcasting deal with News Corp and Fox News Media which will see him front a new show airing on weeknights in the UK, USA and Australia.

In a statement the broadcaster said: “Piers Morgan will join News Corp and FOX News Media in a global deal, launching a new TV show in early 2022. Morgan will also join The Sun and the New York Post as a columnist.

“Following the phenomenal success of his Sunday Times No. 1 bestseller, Wake Up, HarperCollins UK has signed world rights for Piers Morgan’s new title and will publish in hardback, audio and digital formats.

“Piers will also present a series of True Crime documentaries.”

Morgan has been away from television presenting duties ever since he quit his role as a presenter on Good Morning Britain earlier this year.

He left the show after making controversial comments surrounding Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“I’ve gone home,” declared the TV host and author in a recent tweet, sent shortly after the news of his new job broke.

“Great to be rejoining Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation after 28 years. The place I started my media career, with the boss who gave me my first big break. We’re going to have a lot of fun….”
