CCTV images have been released of the man stealing the police light
Police are on the hunt for a man who is alleged to have stolen a blue light from the top of one of their vehicles over the festive period.
CCTV images have been released by British Transport Police showing the man stealing the light from the car which was parked outside a rail station in Sunderland. The images show the man laughing as he walks away with the long blue emergency services light.
“No lighty no likey,” a spokesperson for the force wrote on social media.
Getting away from the banter and down to business, they added: “We believe this man can help our investigation into the theft of police lights from a car in Sunderland. Recognise him? Get in touch.”

The incident happened on Boxing Day at 4.29am. No arrests have yet been made in connection to the incident.
Since being posted to social media, the image has invited a number of colourful responses from members of the public.
