The incident happened at the start of August but the man’s identity remains a mystery
Police have launched a fresh appeal in the hunt for a man who was caught on camera hanging a dead rabbit over someone’s gate.
The incident, which has been described as “utterly abhorrent” by local police, happened in the village of Stonnall, Staffordshire, at around 10.25pm on August 2.
Camera footage from the homeowner’s Ring camera doorbell shows the man hanging a white domestic rabbit over the home’s gate.
There appears to be what looks like a note on the string as well.
DC Josh Lee, of Staffordshire Police, said: “This event, which is part of a wider course of action, is utterly abhorrent.
“We are unsure what motivates someone to undertake such actions and are keen to get the public’s help to identify him.
“Someone knows him, perhaps a neighbour, friend or relative. Thankfully this sort of behaviour is extremely rare but it is concerning that someone would undertake such activity.”
Detectives had released stills of the footage but the man’s identity remains a mystery. The video footage has now been released in a fresh attempt to identify the man.
