Gabby Petito was emotional during the police pullover
Police bodycam footage has been released showing missing influencer Gabby Petito and her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. The police were responding to a domestic incident last month in Utah.
On Thursday, the Moab City Police Department released hour-long footage of their discussion with the couple when pulled over outside Arches National Park on August 12.
Petito sobbed as she spoke to an officer.
“I have really bad OCD. I was apologising to him saying I’m sorry I’m so mean,” Petito told officials.
“We’ve been fighting all morning. He wouldn’t let me in the car before … he told me I needed to calm down.”
“She just gets worked up sometimes, I try to distance myself from her. I locked the car,” Laundrie told the officer once Gabby had been sat in the back of the Police car.
Laundrie alleges that Petito hit him with her phone despite him insisting that they ‘take a breather’. He continued to say that his girlfriend grabbed the wheel of their white van as police were following them.
Officers did not file criminal charges as the couple agreed to separate for the night. The police classified the situation as a “mental/emotional health break” and not domestic assault.
Gabby Petito was reported missing on Saturday, having last been seen travelling in the Yellowstone area of Wyoming. However, the last text to her mother suggests she was 800 miles away in Yosemite.
“No service in Yosemite,” the text read.
“Brian Laundrie is a person of interest in this case,” North Port Police said in a statement.
