It comes as part of the next phase of the roadmap out of lockdown, with current rules permitting people to meet up in parks, but outdoor hospitality still currently closed.
Many Brits have been busy booking tables weeks in advance as the clamour for an ice cold pint on draught intensifies, but if you have missed the boat on booking tables, you might be able to beat the queue in a different way.
Many pubs in England are expected to start serving pints from 12:01 on Sunday night into Monday morning, and you can rest assured there will be queues out the door.
Kentish Belle in Bexley is among the bars to be open for service at midnight, according to the Mirror, who also report that 15 million pints are expected to be sold, as half of the adult population in country plan to get to their local as soon as they can once restrictions on outdoor hospitality are lifted.
Some small pubs will be waiting until mid May to open, when they can serve indoors, due to small outdoor space, with only 40 per cent of pubs in England having the necessarily spacious gardens to make it worth their while.
A lot of the pubs opening on Sunday night/Monday will be big chain franchises, with Marston’s opening 696 beer gardens, while Wetherspoons are set to open 396, Young’s 140 and Greene King 442.
