‘No chance’
The Queen apparently banned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from photographing the moment she met their daughter Lilibet for the first time.
The Sussexes have been in England in recent days for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, meaning that they were able to introduce Lilibet to her great-grandmother for the first time.
The couple reportedly wanted to bring a photographer in to capture the moment that Lilibet and Her Majesty had their first face-to-face meeting.
However, it has been claimed that this was blocked by the monarch herself.
A source told the Sun: “Harry and Meghan wanted their photographer to capture the moment Lilibet met the Queen.
“But they were told no chance. It was a private family meeting.”
It is thought that the move was blocked over fears that a picture of the Queen and Lilibet would have overshadowed Jubilee celebration, and that Harry and Meghan would have shared any pictures taken with US television networks.
On Tuesday, the Sussexes released a portrait of their daughter on her first birthday on Saturday during “a casual, intimate backyard picnic at Frogmore Cottage.”

A spokesperson said: “Close family friend and guest, Misan Harriman, who attended Lilibet’s special day with his wife and children, took the candid, spontaneous photograph that The Duke and Duchess are pleased to share today.”
