Nothing to see here, just a country losing its fucking mind
The Royal Family will be evacuated to a safe place in the even of civil unrest following Brexit, according to both the Sunday Times and the Mail on Sunday.
Plans from the cold war have been revived to ensure Queen Elizabeth and her family are relocated away from any rioting, which many fear could occur in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
The Sunday Times, quoting an unnamed cabinet source, said: “These emergency evacuation plans have been in existence since the cold war but have now been repurposed in the event of civil disorder following a no-deal Brexit.”
The Mail on Sunday echo this claim that the Queen, 92, could be secretly moved away from London.
In January, the monarch, 92, called on everyone to show respect to one another, which many read as her urging parliament to come to some sort of agreement regarding Brexit, in order to minimise the risk of civil disobedience.
The Sunday Times said an ex-police officer formerly in charge of royal protection, Dai Davies, expects Queen Elizabeth to be relocated away from London if there is unrest.
“If there were problems in London, clearly you would remove the royal family away from those key sites,” Davies was quoted as saying.
Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg, who is incredibly only 49, has told the Mail on Sunday that these plans to evacuate the royal family show unnecessary levels of panic, citing the fact that royals remained in London during bombing in the second world war.
