Footage of Her Majesty voicing her frustration was captured on Thursday
Queen Elizabeth II has said that she is “irritated” by the too much talk and too little action from world leaders and politicians when it comes to the ongoing climate crisis ahead of the COP26 climate change summit in Glasgow.
The 95-year-old monarch was seen having a private conversation with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Elin Jones, the parliament’s presiding officer on Thursday (October 14) following the opening of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) in Cardiff.
In the short clip below, you can see and hear her explaining how she finds it very “irritating when they talk but they don’t do”, as they agree it is “time for doing” if we hope to “save the Earth”.

The Queen can be heard saying: “I’ve been hearing all about COP [but] still don’t know who is coming… no idea”. As Jones can be seen pointing out in the video, this comes in the same week that her grandson, Prince William, similarly took aim at billionaires for focusing more on space tourism than the ongoing climate crisis.
As well as the upcoming climate conference, The Duke of Cambridge‘s Earthshot Prize aims to award people who come up with ways to help sustain the environment, with its inaugural ceremony taking place this Sunday.
When asked by Sky News‘ Kay Burley for his response to the Queen’s clip, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps insisted that “we all share the desire to see progress made” when it comes to climate action but added that “comments made in private should stay in private”.

The global climate conference COP26 kicks off on October 31 and runs until November 12.
