Russian state TV is seriously claiming ‘Prince Andrew and Queen want war in Ukraine’

They claim the Royals are trying to detract attention from the Duke’s ongoing allegations

Russian state TV has suggested that the Royal family are willing to go to war over the Ukraine situation simply to distract from Prince Andrew‘s sexual assault case.

Speaking on national television on Sunday, Dmitry Kiselyov, who hosts News of the Week on Rossiya-1 state news channel, claimed that both the Duke of York and his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, “really want to distract attention [from the ongoing scandal], even if it’s war”.

Meanwhile, the lawsuit itself was settled on Thursday, February 17, with accuser Virginia Giuffre agreeing to a payment of approximately £12m in lifelong damages.

Giuffre (formerly known as Roberts) had previously said she would not accept a purely “financial settlement”. However, given the 62-year-old maintains that the allegations are not only false but that he had never met her, a settlement seemed to be the only resolution.

Despite Russia pulling back troops from the border, the situation in Ukraine is still rumbling on as the two countries continue their fractious relationship over the annexed region of Crimea.

With UK troops already deployed and on standby, Prime Minsiter Boris Johnson warns that a Russian invasion of Ukraine would send an “echo around the world” and lead to highly unpredictable ramifications.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin himself warned that Europe would be dragged into the conflict if NATO decided to assist Ukraine after a diplomatic meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron came to an impasse.

Naturally, there has been no response from the palace regarding the TV channel’s claims.
