One soldier tried to ‘look sexy in bed posing with his pistol’
Some Russian troops have wasted no time in getting to know the locals, taking to Tinder in a search for love.
Women in the city of Kharkiv have been stunned by the influx of Russian soldiers on the app.
One woman says she was getting matches from soldiers named Andrei, Alexander, Gregory, Michail and “Black” some 20 miles away, the Sun reports.
Dasha Synelnikova told the outlet: “I actually live in Kyiv but changed my location settings to Kharkiv after a friend told me there were Russian troops all over Tinder.”
Some of the soldiers apparently gave away their military positions.
“One muscular guy posed up trying to look sexy in bed posing with his pistol. Another was in full Russian combat gear and others just showed off in tight stripy vests,” Synelnikova said.
“I didn’t find any of them attractive and would never consider sleeping with the enemy. I automatically swiped left to reject them, but there were so many I got curious and got into a message exchange,” the Ukrainian woman continued.
“It was funny but scary at the same time, knowing that they were so close.”
The 33-year-old even engaged in conversation with one of the soldiers, Andrei.
His profile showed him holding a Kalashnikov rifle in full combat gear.
Synelnikova said she was unaware he was a Russian soldier and when she asked him if he had “plans to visit” he said he wasn’t allowed in the country since the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
When she asked if he was a soldier, Andrei sent back a Jim Carrey GIF which Synelnikova took as a yes.
Bearded fighter “Black” had a picture of himself holding a kitten on his profile, alongside a selfie with a pistol.
Meanwhile Alexander, 29, posed in a beret, and Gregory, 25, showed off his military watch.
Synelnikova had sympathy for the soldiers, saying that they are the “same as anyone else on Tinder – they want love or companionship.”
