They were given poisoned ‘pies’, with hundreds more suffering mysterious alcohol poisoning
Russian troops have been killed and dozens left requiring hospital treatment after they were given poisoned food by Ukrainian civilians.
In a statement, Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence claimed that two Russian troops were killed and 28 were in intensive care after being given “poisoned pies” in the city of Izium.
The soldiers were reportedly from the 3rd Russian motor rifle division.
Another 500 troops were taken to hospitals due to heavy alcohol poisoning. Officials said this poisoning was of an “unknown origin.”
The Russian government is apparently labelling the cases as “non-combat losses.”

According to Izium’s deputy mayor Vladimir Matsokin, an estimated 80 percent of residential buildings in the city have been destroyed.
