Erica Ash, known for her performances in films such as Scary Movie and X-Men: Apocalypse, has passed away aged 46.
The Florida-born actors first big break came on Rosie O’Donnell’s The Big Gay Sketch Show which first aired in 2007. She appeared on the show alongside Colman Domingo, Kate McKinnon, Stephen Guarino and more.
Erica then joined MadTV in its 14th and final season in 2008, and became well known for her celebrity impressions – including Naomi Campbell, Whoopi Goldberg, Mo’Nique, Michelle Obama, among others.
She also appeared in Survivor’s Remorse, Real Husbands of Hollywood and Uncle Drew.
Erica’s mother, Diann Ash, revealed the news of her daughter’s passing to TMZ.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend Erica Chantal Ash (1977-2024),” she said.
“After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.”

Several of her friends and peers in the acting industry paid tribute to the talented young woman.
Olivia Munn, who starred alongside Ash in Violet, wrote: “So sad to hear about the passing of Erica Ash after a long battle with cancer.
“We worked together on the movie Violet that came out in 2021. She was a brilliant actor who brought so much to every moment. Rest in love.”
