Davis said Johnson had failed to take responsibility for breaching lockdown restrictions
Tory grandee David Davis has demanded Boris Johnson’s resignation in a spectacular showdown at Prime Minister’s Questions.
In a blistering takedown of the Tory leader, the former Brexit secretary said: “I expect my leaders to shoulder the responsibility for the actions they take. Yesterday he did the opposite of that.
“You have sat there for too long. In the name of God go”.
"In the name of God, go."

The former cabinet minister said Johnson had failed to take responsibility for breaching lockdown restrictions and he had enough of taking the flak for him.
A rattled Johnson insisted he was not going to resign, urging the commons to “wait for the outcome” of the eagerly awaited inquiry currently being written by senior civil servant Sue Gray.
It’s not believed Davis has submitted a letter of no confidence in the Prime Minister.
Davis is largely credited with helping deliver a hard Brexit and is popular amongst his Tory colleagues.
In 2018, amidst mounting pressure to deliver Brexit, now-culture secretary Nadine Dorries tweeted her support for the minister. She wrote: “David Davis is ex SAS. He’s trained to survive. He’s also trained to take people out.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Conservative MP for Bury South, Christian Wakeford, quit the Tory party in protest against Johnson’s leadership.
The MP defected to Labour just before the explosive session of Prime Minister’s Questions, marking his departure from the Tory Party by “crossing the chamber”.
