Shakespeare may have been stoned when writing his masterpieces

Tom Victor

We’ve all got that one friend who claims smoking weed gives them inspiration, and it turns out they could be closer to the truth than we realised.

New evidence has emerged suggesting William Shakespeare may have been stoned when completing his famous plays, after cannabis residue was found in pipes recovered from the garden of his old Stratford-upon-Avon home.

It seems incredible that one man alone could have written all those masterpieces, so it comes as no surprise that plays like Macbeth and Othello may have been a joint effort.
