The video has sparked arguments over whether the soldier or the child’s parents were to blame
A video showing a member of the Queen’s Guard trampling over a child has gone viral online.
In a clip anonymously shared on TikTok, two guards can be seen walking past onlookers. One of them then appears to shout “make way” before walking straight into a child, not breaking stride once and leaving the crowd shocked.
The child quickly gets back to his feet, seemingly unhurt.
The clip has been viewed more than four million times since being posted on Wednesday.

Unsurprisingly, many were shocked by the clip and voiced their anger in the comments.
One person commented: “That child isn’t dangerous I get it’s their job but it’s a child there was no reason to do that.”
Another said: “To all the people saying they’re just doing their job. If your job involves trampling children therein lies the problem.”
A third agreed: “It wouldn’t kill the guard to walk around the child, if it’s adults in the way I understand but if it’s a child you can make an exception.”
However some defended the guard and thought the child and their parents should shoulder much of the blame.
One person commented: “Watch all these ppl get pressed about the royal guards doing their job. You don’t move? You get trampled. Easy.”
Another said: “I blame the parents, absolutely no awareness of their surroundings.”
A third concurred: “People don’t understand that those guards aren’t there for tourist attraction and are highly trained SOLDIERS there to protect the QUEEN.”
A spokesperson for the army said they were aware of the incident, LBC reports. They said that the Guardsmen on duty had “warned members of the public that a patrol was approaching, but the child unfortunately ran out in front of the soldier unexpectedly”.
The spokesperson added: “Following the incident, the soldier checked on the child and was reassured that all was well.”
