The soldier who killed Osama Bin Laden has slammed Senator Graham following his comments that “someone” should assassinate President Vladimir Putin.

Appearing on FOX News on February 4, Senator Lindsey Graham said: “The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out. You would be doing your country and the world a great service.”

In a Tweet, Graham also spoke on his dreams of Putin’s assassination: “Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military? The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out.”

Graham references two famous people in his incendiary tweet. The first, Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus, was the most prominent Roman Senator to aid in the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BC. The second, German Army Colonel Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, was executed in 1944 after trying to assassinate Adolf Hitler.

While his comments shocked the world, with many stating that a high-ranking Government official should not be advocating for assassination, others agreed with the Senator.

But Robert O’Neill, who shot and killed Osama Bin Laden in 2011, doesn’t believe Graham should have made such comments. He told TMZ that Graham should be using official channels to get the job done as part of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Instead, Graham opted for a TV appearance, which doesn’t sit well with O’Neill.

But O’Neill doesn’t completely disagree with Graham and in fact, believes someone should assassinate him if the Ukrainian invasion doesn’t come to a halt soon. But for now, he’s hoping that it comes to an end.
