The stabbing took place near the grounds of a college in Romford

Police are investigating after a teenager was stabbed near the grounds of Havering College in east London on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene at around 12.20pm after reports of a stabbing at Tring Gardens, located near the college, where police and the London Ambulance Service found a boy suffering from a stab injury.

According to a parent whose child is a student at the college, the victim “was stabbed in the neck”.

“They said he was stabbed in the neck,” they told the Romford Recorder.

“I just wanted my son to get out of there as quick as possible.

“All the children were evacuated, and told to go home.”

A spokesman for Havering College told the Romford Recorder: “We are aware of an incident outside our Quarles Campus in Harold Hill earlier today.

“As this is now a police investigation we are unable to make any further comment.”

According to a statement by Scotland Yard, the victim’s injuries are not life-threatening. No arrests have been made.
