If you don’t live in London, you’re probably not getting a fair shake when it comes to 4G coverage on your phone.
Most UK phone users can only access a 4G network 53% of the time, according to a new report by OpenSignal and consumer watchdog Which?
via Giphy / MovStarEE customers have the best service, getting 4G 60% of the time. By comparison Vodafone got 57%, O2 Â 55% and 3 picked up a woeful 39%
The UK is also lagging behind in tech, scoring less than 39 other nations overall for 4G speed.
Which?’s executive director Richard Lloyd gave the following comment to accompany his study:
“Almost everyone now uses a mobile phone service and it’s not good enough that the UK is lagging behind so many countries with our 4G network coverage.Â
Increasing 4G access should be a priority for mobile providers and Ofcom must continue to push them to make this a reality.”
Why does UK Wi-Fi and phone service favour the capital?
And is it fair?
