The top tier FIFA 16 players don’t play crosses.

That was just one of the many storylines that came out of an amazing FIFA Interactive World Cup this week.

The world’s best FIFA 16 players all came to New York to test their skills in a two-day tournament that saw 17-year-old Mohamad Al-Bacha crowned world champion.

Mohamad defeated England’s Sean Allen in an unbelievable and dramatic two-legged final full of tactical tinkering, right stick skill moves and last minute goals.

FIFA WORLD CHAMPION

Down 3-1 in the final game after a 2-2 draw in the first leg, scored twice in 90th minute stoppage time to claim the title of world’s best FIFA 16 gamer, with Antoine Griezmann slotting home the deciding strike for France against Brazil.

“You don’t believe it when the final whistle blows,” said Al-Bacha, who came away with $20,000 in prize money (£14,117), as well as a nice trip to next year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony. “It was an excellent feeling. I was very happy, because that was my goal.”

“You can’t really describe it,” said Al-Bacha. “It’s the biggest achievement a FIFA player can achieve.”

Good on you Mohamad, feel free to drop in the JOE offices if you ever fancy a game.
