“‘No Blacks, no Irish, no dogs.’ You know what that saying means?”
Thousands of protesters gathered in London’s Hyde Park on Wednesday, demanding justice for George Floyd, the black man killed by Minneapolis police last week, and Belly Mujinga, the rail worker who died of coronavirus after allegedly being spat at by a member of the public who claimed to have the virus, as well as countless other people of colour who have been unjustly killed because of the colour of their skin.
Floyd’s death has provoked massive protests and riots across America, which have prompted US president Donald Trump to call upon the National Guard and impose a curfew in the country.
People around the world disgusted at his death and the continued mistreatment of minorities have also taken to the streets to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
“The US is the younger brother of the UK, racism started here so we need to speak out.”

In London on Wednesday, thousands came together to call for justice and to try and dispel the myth that Britain, unlike America, does not have a serious problem with racism.
We spoke to a number of protesters, from those sick and tired of having to work harder to get what they deserve simply because of their skin colour, to those aware of the need for the white population to support minorities.
