Just hours after booking his next bout, Anthony Pettis had multiple vehicles ablaze in his driveway.
According to a report from FOX6 News, a vehicle was seen speeding away from the former UFC lightweight champion’s Milwaukee house at around 1am on Thursday. The vehicle sped way from a swarm of flames coming from the fighter’s driveway which contained three cars that were engulfed in flames.
Emergency services arrived on the scene swiftly to control the blaze and managed to keep it confined to his driveway. The flames did not spread to his house or any of the surrounding neighbours’ houses and no one was hurt or injured in the incident. Milwaukee police reportedly believe the unknown suspect “used an accelerant to ignite two of the vehicles which forced flames to spread to a third vehicle”.

Pettis, who had kept quiet after the incident, broke his silence on his official Instagram account on Friday.
The top featherweight contender admitted being “confused and saddened” by what had happened, calling the act “cowardly”. He remains adamant that this incident, nor any other crimes that have been occurring in the area are enough to convince him to leave his hometown.

Pettis is scheduled to take on streaking featherweight Max Holloway in a potential title eliminator bout at UFC 206. That fight announcement was made just a few hours before the cars were set on fire in front of his house.
