Urgent recalls ordered for meat and chocolate from Tesco, Asda and Morrisons

Morrisons, Aldi, M&S, Asda and Waitrose have all been affected

Four of the UK’s biggest supermarket chains have recalled a number of products amid concerns over incorrect date labels and the possible presence of plastic.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has produced and updated a comprehensive list of items being recalled, with products like meat, chocolate and ice cream all making an appearance.

The reasons for the recalls vary immensely, with some having the wrong dates and others containing wheat or soya when the label says otherwise.

For a complete list of recalled products, go to the FSA website or click here.

Shoppers who have purchased said items will be permitted to return them to the shop in exchange for a full refund. It is also not an issue if you no longer have the receipt, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Common items you may have at home and should be aware of include:

Lindt LINDOR Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate Bars

Due to the bars potentially containing gluten, which is not on the label, the FSA say this is a potential risk to those with a wheat or gluten intolerance.

Similarly, some packs contain Lindt HELLO Strawberry Cheesecake Bar due to a packaging error.

BBQ wings and chicken wings

Marks & Spencer is recalling M&S Sticky BBQ Wings and Chinese Style Wings because they contain soya, which is not mentioned on the label.

Sausage rolls

Marks & Spencer is also recalling M&S 20 Cocktail Sausage Rolls due to incorrect date labelling. Some have a use-by date of January 2022, which is not correct.

Maple Flavour Pork Belly Slices

Asda is recalling said product because it too contains wheat and soya, which are not mentioned on the label.

Ice cream

Morrisons is recalling Amour Classic Vanilla Ice Cream because it may contain pieces of plastic.
