Arsene Wenger can come across as an odd character.
But this little dietary detail by David Baddiel casts an even stranger light on the Arsenal boss.
The comedian was regaling a tale about spotting Wenger at a restaurant during the 2010 World Cup.
Baddiel was sat with partner in crime Frank Skinner when they noticed the Frenchman ordering his meal.

But rather than a steaming bowl of moules marinière or a hearty serving of beef bourguignon, he ordered something rather strange.
A pair of shiny, red apples – which he then proceeded to meticulously slice and methodically devour.
You wouldn’t see Sam Allardyce pulling that kind of stunt.
