Truly awful scenes...

Two football fans were killed and more than 50 others injured as violence erupted between rival supporters at a match in Morocco.

Horrific scenes were caught on video as Raja de Casablanca clashed on the terraces at the Mohammed V stadium after the club’s 2-1 victory win.

Fans fought running battles, threw flares and tore up the stadium despite seeing their side beat Chabab Rif Al Hoceima of Al Hoceima in northern Morocco.

The footage from Moroccan media appears to show supporters in green charging at fellow fans, the Daily Mail reports.

It is unclear how the violence broke out but security services in the North Africa country confirmed that 31 people had been arrested following the game for ‘involvement in acts of vandalism’.

A further 10 fans were arrested before kick off in relation to similar charges.

An inquiry into the violence has been launched by the government. Raja de Casablanca will play its next five games behind closed doors, as well as pay a fine of 100,000 Moroccan dirhams (£7,150).
