Tired of busy traffic? Fly instead
The G7 summit is a lot like the Met Gala, only if fabulous clothing were replaced with empty gestures and a promise for a better tomorrow. The conference will have a specific focus on green technology, but it appears someone did not get the memo.
Boris Johnson, our ‘fearless leader’, decided to travel from London to Cornwall by private jet. That is certainly one way to avoid traffic.
I’ve arrived in Cornwall for this year’s @G7 where I’ll be asking my fellow leaders to rise to the challenge of beating the pandemic and building back better, fairer and greener.
It will be a busy and important Summit, and I can’t wait to get started.#G7UK pic.twitter.com/H4VSQ2SCD6

The G7 summit comprises of the United Kingdom, America, Canada, Japan, Italy, Germany, and France. For the first time, India, Australia, and South Korea have also been invited. Despite being the largest economy on Earth, China has never been a member. Russia also joined for a short time but was kicked out when they annexed Crimea.
If you struggle to understand what G7 is, then think of the Illuminati only with less influence and more questionable decisions.
Boris Johnson posted the following on Twitter:
“I’ve arrived in Cornwall for this year’s G7 where I’ll be asking my fellow leaders to rise to the challenge of beating the pandemic and building back better, fairer and greener.
‘It will be a busy and important summit, and I can’t wait to get started.’
People on social media did not miss the irony of Johnson wanting a greener world and then simultaneously stepping off the plane.
Flying a plane 250 miles to a G7 summit in Cornwall on climate change is mixed messaging at best.
The world is laughing at Boris Johnson and he is laughing at us.
This is what happens when extreme narcissism and privilege are given the reins of power.#BorisJohnsonmustgo

What impression does flying from London to Cornwall give at the outset of climate talks, @BorisJohnson?
Prioritise green transport.
Lead by example.
Take this crisis seriously. #G7 https://t.co/PPk4h6Mn1V— Friends of the Earth (@friends_earth) June 10, 2021
Google maps, a platform available to literally everyone, states that the journey would take around five hours by road. This begs the question, did Johnson know that Cornwall was in the UK?
The G7 summit is sitting down to discuss the New Atlantic Charter, which will allow for better security and a greener planet.
On the plus side, Johnson can do a coffee run in his plane; we hear there’s a Starbucks a two-minute plane ride away.
