Unfortunately, he’s given it short shrift
Financial guru Martin Lewis has responded to calls for him to run for Prime Minister.
The money-saving expert was revealed to be the celebrity most Brits would like to take the job in a recent poll.
It comes as a petition calling for an immediate general election reached 100,000 signatures, meaning it must be considered for debate in parliament.
This was confirmed in an update on the campaign’s page, which simply reads: “Parliament will consider this for a debate.”
At the time of writing, the petition has amassed over 150,000 signatures.
The petition reads: “The chaos engulfing the UK government is unprecedented.
“Over 40 ministers resigned leaving departments without leadership during cost of living, energy and climate crises.
“War rages in Ukraine; the Northern Ireland Protocol has further damaged our relationship with Europe; recession looms; the UK itself may cease to exist as Scotland seeks independence.
“This is the greatest set of challenges we have seen in our lifetimes. Let the people decide who leads us through this turmoil.”

Earlier this week, Lewis topped a list of celebs most Brits want to see become PM.
He was closely followed by national treasure David Attenborough, Stephen Fry and Alison Hammond in a poll of 2,000 adults which found 44 per cent would happily vote for a celebrity to become PM.
And they believe the leader of the country should not only be trustworthy and honest, but also down to earth with a sense of humour.
While a third think they should be compassionate – as well as unbiased (23 per cent) and hardworking (36 per cent).
Unfortunately, Lewis has given the calls short shrift.
Responding to the poll, which was commissioned by Channel 4 ahead of the launch of ‘Make Me Prime Minister’, he said:
“While a very kind thought. As I’ve said before, my mental health isn’t robust enough for partisan politics.
“In fact, I’d rather have my nipples wired to electrodes (and not in a good way).”
While a very kind thought. As I've said before, my mental health isn't robust enough for partisan politics. Nor would I do it to my family.

Richard Osman responded, saying it will be left to him (5th), Alison Hammond (4th) and Dame Judi (6th) to do the job.
Lewis replied saying: ” If i’ve told you once, I’ve told you a thousand times. NO! You cannot wire my nipples to electrodes. No matter how much Dame Judy asks!”
