The 20-foot Donald Trump angry baby blimp is heading to America

James Dawson

It’s already made appearances in London and Edinburgh

It looks like the now infamous 20-foot “angry baby blimp” depicting Donald Trump that was flown during the US president’s recent four-day “working visit” to the UK will fly in America.

An activist in New Jersey decided the helium balloon needed to be brought across the Atlantic after seeing it during Friday’s protests held in London. Like campaigners in the UK, Didier Jimenez-Castro decided to set up a crowdfunding campaign to make it happen.

“I got together with local organizers and we agreed we need to bring Baby Trump to Bedminster where he plays golf on the regular,” he wrote on GoFundMe. “I contacted the manufacturer and now we are raising money to have one shipped to us.”

The Trump National Golf Club is located in Bedminster and the president and his family often spend weekends there in the summer. Jimenez-Castro set a fundraising goal of $4,500 (£3,400) to make it happen, something that he quickly achieved.

“Within 22 hours, we reached our goal,” he told the Courier News. “I contacted the manufacturer again and we will have our balloon by mid-August.”

During his stay in the UK the Donald Trump claimed the blimp made him feel “unwelcome” in the capital, it was funded via a crowdfunding project with over £30,000 being raised.

“Donald Trump is a big, angry baby with a fragile ego and tiny hands,” the group’s crowdfunding page said. “He’s also racist demagogue who is a danger to women, immigrants and minorities and a mortal threat to world peace and the very future of life on earth.”

“Moral outrage is water off a duck’s back to Trump,” the group added. “But he really seems to hate it when people make fun of him.”
