Joe Biden was projected winner of the US presidential election a whole month ago – but it only now seems like the Trump campaign is prepared to concede defeat.
Since Biden’s projection as winner on November 7th, Trump and his closest allies have launched a series of legal challenges against various states.
The Trump campaign falsely claimed that states were engaged in fraudulent electoral practices regarding the use of postal ballots. All such allegations have been unsubstantiated.
In Wisconsin, Trump paid three million dollars towards a recount. Instead of unearthing more Trump votes, the recount instead discovered a couple of hundred ballots in favour of Biden.
This week, Trump made a 45-minute speech in which he claimed that the United States’ electoral system was under “siege”.
Now, it finally looks as if the Trump campaign is prepared to accept defeat.
Kellyanne Conway, who served as Senior Counselor to the President from 2017 to August of this year, has admitted that the end of the road is near for the Trump campaign.

“If you look at the vote totals in the Electoral College tally, it looks like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will prevail. I assume the electors will certify that and it will be official. We, as a nation, will move forward, because we always do.”
At a White House Christmas party held earlier this week, Donald Trump seemed to hint that he would run for the presidency again in 2024.
According to Politico and the various US media to have reported on Trump’s Christmas party, he said:
“It’s been an amazing four years. We are trying to do another four years. Otherwise, I’ll see you in four years.”
Only time will tell whether or not you’ve truly seen the last of the incumbent President.
