Watch out if you’re friends with Martha
Martha Stewart has joked that while never being a “home-wrecker”, she is waiting for her friends to die so she can date their husbands.
The 80-year-old chef and entrepreneur recently sat down with comedian Chelsea Handler on her incendiary podcast, Dear Chelsea. Stewart revealed that she has tried “really hard not to be” a “home-wrecker”, despite having ample opportunity.
“I’ve had the opportunity to be a home-wrecker, and I have not taken anybody up on it,” she said.
Stewart continues to say that most of the men she meets are married to her friends, which prompted Handler to say it’s sometimes “very tempting” to have an affair with a married man. Essentially, “because you want to believe that, ‘Oh, maybe this relationship that they’re in is temporary.'”
Jumping back in, the close friend of Snoop Dogg replied: “Or maybe they’ll die. I always think, ‘Oh, gosh, couldn’t that person just die?’ Not painfully, just die.”

“I had two mad crushes in the last month, which is really good for me, but it turns out one of them is married to the mother of some friends of mine,” she added. “He’s so attractive.” While Stewart did not reveal his name for obvious reasons, there are undoubtedly a few friends of Stewart’s questioning whether she’s got a crush on their hubby.
Stewart has only been married once, to publisher Andrew Stewart from 1961 to 1990. They share a daughter, 56-year-old Alexis Stewart, who has two kids herself. After separating in 1987, Scott obtained a court order forbidding Stewart from speaking to him before marrying her former assistant Robyn Fairclough in 1993.

Other notable relationships include software architect Charles Simonyi, investigative journalist Carl Bernstein, and legendary Welsh actor Anthony Hopkins.
Stewart’s relationship with Hopkins ended after she was not able to separate the actor from his infamous character in The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Lecter.
“I have a big, scary house in Maine that’s way by itself on 100 acres in the forest, and I couldn’t even imagine taking Anthony Hopkins there,” she told Ellen DeGeneres. “I couldn’t — all I could think of was him eating, you know …”
Here’s a hint, it’s not mashed potatoes.
