Passenger on flight ‘breastfed cat and wouldn’t put it back in carrier’

This is not purr-fect flight etiquette

A now-viral screengrab of an aircraft communication system seemingly explains that a woman was breastfeeding her cat mid-flight while refusing to put it back in its carrier.

The screenshot comes from an Aircraft Communications, Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) message from Delta Air flight DL1360 to Atlanta, USA.

Presumably written by the pilot, the message explains that a woman refused to put her furry friend back in the cat carrier, which meant Delta’s Redcoat ground team were called in for ground support.

The message reads: “Req Redcoat meet AC Pax (passenger) in (seat) 13A is breastfeeding a cat and will not put cat back in its carrier when FA (flight attendant) requested.”

“Also, civilization had a good run,” the post concludes.

It goes without saying that we all love our animals, but as evident by this report, there are others out there who really love their pets.

Details on the incident are pretty scarce at the moment, but this tidbit leaves way too much to the imagination. First of all, is this a standard practice, or was the cat just particularly thirsty?

Second, and arguably most important, what happened to the cat and human milk carton once they landed in Atlanta? And finally, did the other passengers just sit there?

This might be one of those instances where we never find out what happened, and in all honesty, we should probably be thankful for that.

“Another in an ongoing (and always growing) list of examples indicating that a very large number of your fellow citizens are functionally insane,” wrote one Twitter reply.

“Happy Thanksgiving!”

“That woman needs Jesus,” another wrote, so if anyone has got his email, we should collectively as a human race get involved.

Needless to say, this isn’t the thing you want to see while 40,000 feet in the air, but we guess it’s better than Snakes On A Plane.
