Gary Lineker aside, Barcelona and Leicester City haven’t had too much in common down the years.
Now though, with the football season rapidly approaching its climax, Leicester appear destined to join Barca in next season’s Champions League.
And while the thought of the two sides meeting in Europe’s elite club competition might well be a mouth-watering prospect for Foxes supporters, they won’t have to wait until Autumn to see their side taking on the Spanish champions.
Barca have opted not to embark on a money-spinning long-haul tour this pre-season, but will face Leicester – as well as Liverpool and Celtic – as part of their preparations for the 2016/17 season.
According to Catalan publication Ara, the games will be part of this year’s International Champions Cup competition, with confirmation expected on Tuesday afternoon.
