“A woman’s best place is in the kitchen and on her back” – Tyson Fury at it again

More controversy

Despite an online petition to get Tyson Fury removed from the Sports Personality of the Year shortlist, the new heavyweight champion is still in the running for the award.

Fury will not be removed from the list of nominees in spite of the controversial comments he made about homosexuality in the run-up to his title fight with Wladimir Klitschko.

He’s since revealed that he doesn’t want to win the Sports Personality of the Year as there are better candidates out there.

And the Manchester fighter’s recent comments on women may mean that his chances of taking the honour fall even further.

A Youtube video published last week shows Fury saying that “a woman’s best place is in the kitchen and on her back, that’s my personal belief.”

Fury also went on to discuss women in boxing and his comments are more than a little bit derogatory as he suggested that the ring card girls are more entertaining to him than any female boxers.

“Women in boxing? I think they are very nice when they’re walking around that ring holding them cards,” he said.

“I like them actually, the give me inspiration, when I’m tired and I see a good sort walking and wiggling around with their round two, round eight, round 10. I think women in boxing is very good.”

When asked by the interviewer about what he actually makes of women in the ring, Fury continued

“It’s up to everybody what they want to do,” he said.

“I’m all for it, I’m not a sexist. I believe if a man can to go work all his life and a woman can go to work all her life… Who am I to say ‘don’t do that cos you’re a girl’?

“But I believe a woman’s best place is in the kitchen and on her back, that’s my personal belief. Making me a good cup of tea, that’s what I believe.”
