AC Milan have successfully appealed their ban from European competition for two seasons, as the Court of Arbitration for Sport reversed the decision.

The Serie A team were banned from European competition after UEFA punished them for breaking Finncial Fair Play rules. The club were angered by the decision to stop them from competing in the Europa League, claiming it was too harsh. They have provided guarantees that their American fund has business continuity and has zeroed its debts.
The club will now be able to compete in the Europa League next season, and might now hold old onto captain Leonardo Bonucci. The defender is being linked with a move away to a Champions League side, but this decision could persuade him to stay at the San Siro.
