All change at Man City with new kit, badge, manager, striker and website

All's changed

Say what you like about Manchester City, but they certainly don’t hold back when it comes to promoting themselves.

This weekend has been dubbed ‘Cityzens Weekend’ by the club, as they promote “the start of an exciting new era in the club’s history”. At the centre of the new launch is of course the unveiling of new manager Pep Guardiola, but the Catalan is far from only change at the Etihad.

The City Football Academy will throw its doors open to thousands of fans for a free two-day event that celebrates the launch of the new club badge, as well as officially revealing the new kit for the first time. As well as these changes, the Twitter account is no longer @MCFC but now @ManCity, and they have a fresh new website at www.mancity.com.

That’s on top of officially announcing the signing of Celta Vigo striker Manuel Agudo Duran for £13.8m. The Spaniard becomes Pep Guardiola’s third signing as City boss after Ilkay Gundogan and Aaron Mooy, and joins on a four-year deal.

Of course we’re already familiar with new badge, which was unveiled in December, but it was nevertheless projected onto Manchester Town Hall to coincide with the ‘Cityzens’ event.

And ahead of the official unveiling of the new Nike kit, here’s a couple of sneak-peak images. Whether this is the official new strip of not, we’ll have to wait until the weekend to find out…
