Amir Khan continues to bang the drum for a cross-sport clash with Conor McGregor.
Having been brutally knocked out by Canelo Alvarez in May, Khan is seeking a new challenge and he’s been nothing but persistent in pushing for a move to mixed martial arts to take on ‘The Notorious.’
McGregor had toyed with the idea of meeting Floyd Mayweather in a kind of super-fight that would result in all pay-per-view records shattering but Khan insists that the back-and-forth between the Irishman and the recently retired Mayweather is nothing but a publicity stunt.
Khan, a former unified WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion, claims that he is serious about his challenge and he has intensified his call-out.
“I’ll go and fight Conor McGregor just to prove I’m a real man. I’m not one to back away, I’ve never backed away from any fight and I never will,” said Khan, as per Jefferson Lake of Sky Sports.
“Conor seems to have the same kind of attitude as well, so maybe that’s something that in the future that can happen. I say why not?
“I would definitely step into the Octagon with him. Conor, you’re a big name and let’s make this fight happen. I’d love to take him on. If Conor wants it, let’s have it.”

Perhaps someone should let Amir know that the sport is called MMA and nobody trains UFC.
