Romeo Beckham, 13-year-old son of former England captain David, seems set to cut short his time with the Arsenal academy.
The youngster had followed in the footsteps of older brother Brooklyn by joining the Gunners, and the Mail on Sunday are reporting that he will follow his elder sibling in leaving the London club’s set-up before turning pro.
David Beckham recently admitted to being “heartbroken” that one of his sons had no plans to play football professionally, but it is unclear whether these comments were in relation to Romeo, Brooklyn or youngest son Cruz.
Romeo was England’s mascot for the recent Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland – a 13th birthday present from his parents.
Cruz is also on Arsenal’s books, while Beckham’s daughter Harper has expressed a desire to play football for a living.
It has been reported that a few matters need to be resolved before Romeo officially leaves Arsenal.
